Doll: Had Things Been Different

The reason Marta left her home was because of her family, for the most part. Her father, Hollow Thunder, was working in the entrance of a cave when it collapsed. His leg was caught and Marta tried to lift it so he could get out. She would up using her powers and made his father frightened of her. When the rock was lifted, he made no move to escape. Having no control over her powers, the rock fell and crushed his leg. When help finally arrived, it was impossible to fix his leg.

Hollow couldn't bring himself to look at his daughter, thinking that it was his fault that she was so depressed. When she was at the age of a young adult, she ran away from home. Without his knowing, the villagers had begun to believe that Marta had made the rocks collapse on his leg. When he realized this, he made it his mission to find his daughter and apologize for not guarding her like a father should.

I kinda like the picture. This is actually a picture on what life would have been like, had Hollow told the villagers that Marta had tried to save him, but he couldn't move to make the escape.

Her mother, Echo Wind, was once a pirate before she became pregnant with her first child, Misty Pearl. When Marta was born, they decided to settle down away from the royal life of Canterlot and found a place in a famous port city where they lived happily until Marta left. Hollow Thunder was apart of the royal guard at one point in his life, but gave it up to live alongside Echo on her voyages.
